Cavapoochon Info
-
These beautiful pups come from a Cavachon mom (Pippa) who weighs 17 pounds and a pure-bred, mini poodle (Wally) who weighs 13. We estimate that this litter will range in weight from 13-20 pounds full grown.
-
Poodles were bred with a “fading gene” that causes their coats to fade as they age. Some poodles have a more intense version of this gene than others. The best way to tell how much the pups will fade is by looking at the parents. Pippa’s marks have faded a tad, but not much for her age, remaining a beautiful champagne/nut color. Wally hasn’t faded hardly at all.
While some fading is to be expected, and no guarantee can be made as to the color as adults, we don’t believe the fading will be significant.
-
Our vet has cleared these pups to head to their forever homes as early as December 23rd. (Pending their final check, of course.)
Transportation to any major US airport is possible - we are transportation pros.
-
Our pups have had their dew claws removed and have been vet checked at 4 days old. They will receive another veterinary check before they go to their forever homes.
We also have the immense benefit of a customized deworming and vaccination protocol, which we are very thankful for. They will have received several rounds of vaccinations and deworming, giving them the best chance at an easy transition to their forever homes.
-
The pups are also in our homes and played with and loved daily. We take our program very seriously and our goal is to send every puppy home with the confidence they need to take on their new home environment.
They will play with our children, be exposed to the various sounds of every day life, experience a car ride, be exposed to various types of ground (grass, wood chips, rocks, etc.) and be started on our indoor potty training protocol.
-
House training cannot be 100% successful at 8 weeks of age with any breed.
Small breeds pose their own unique challenges, in that their bladder and bowels are very, very small. Due to their size, they also can have more of an aversion to cold weather.
Be prepared to be patient and consistent - your pup WILL get it! Don’t worry!
We recommend setting up an indoor potty training solution for while your puppy is very young. (“Litter box” training for young dogs has come a LONG way. You may end up preferring this method forever!)

In my 9 + years as a breeder, one topic that regularly comes up is that of gender. “Aren’t males more aggressive?” “Won’t my female have more separation anxiety?” “Don’t males ‘hump’ everything in sight?”
My answer usually surprises people: there is FAR more difference from pup to pup than from gender to gender. This is almost universally true if the pup is “fixed” (spayed/neutered).
I have seen very aggressive females and very laid-back males. I know that both genders “hump” as a way to show dominance - some pups do this more than others.
What you are looking for is a pup that matches the personality you are looking for, whether male or female.
Below you will see pictures of previous pups from our program. I’ve left them up so you can see how they look as they get older.
