What’s the deal with Doodles anyway? Why is it such a craze? Why are people so obsessed with doodles? There’s good reason.
The poodle is notoriously intelligent. This sounds like a desirable trait, of course, but I don’t think people quite understand how smart these purebreds are. They commonly are able to open their own crates, find ways out of nearly any enclosure, and can generally find mischief wherever they choose - if they choose to.
The benefits of mixing another breed with a poodle are vast, but here are a few:
a more allergy friendly coat
a more intelligent mix than most breeds which are crossed with poodle
can reduce the size, producing smaller or larger pets than you would normally get
a diverse gene pool which most scientists believe produces “hybrid vigor” for a healthier dog
